OBITUARY Edgar R Jennings June 18, 1932 – September 2, 2018 Edgar Ray Jennings, 86, of Tazewell, TN, passed away on September 2, 2018. He was born June 18, 1932 in Ripley TN. Moving to East Tennessee when he was 21 years old, he served as a wildlife officer with Tennessee Wildlife Res Agency for 30 years until he retired.

Following his retirement, Ray owned two separate businesses rebuilding log homes and drilling/servicing water wells. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Harrogate. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Hallie Mae and Victor Jennings, his wife , Mary Elizabeth Jennings and an infant son.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ann Ferguson Jennings of Tazewell, a sister Virginia Boyd of Hot Springs, AR, children Rebecca (Mark) Mantooth of Mechanicsburg, PA, Scott Fergurson of New Tazewell, TN, Rachel Jennings of Carson City, NV, and Virginia DeBord of Newport, TN, multiple grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell TN, on Wednesday September 5, 2018 from 5 until 7 P.M. with Celebration of life to follow at 7pm. Family and friends will meet at Coffey Funeral home on Thursday August 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. to proceed to Fairview Cemetery for burial.

Rev. Bill Duncan will be officiating, Rev. Tommy Louthan Jr will read the obituary and Gary Tucker will provide the music.

Pallbearers: Mark Mantooth, Michael Mantooth, Ray Turner, Russell Essary, Charles Bunch, Benny Magurt and Rev. Tommy Louthan Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Harrogate, 310 Catalpa Ave Harrogate TN 37752. Coffey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
