Edgar “Ed” Sprinkle, Jr. born May 14, 1931, left this earthly home on the morning of May 1, 2019 to a beautiful place on Hallelujah Square, to be with Jesus forever, no more pain in this earthly tabernacle. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Sprinkle Sr. and Aurora Brookshire Sprinkle; a sister, Bobbie Louise Hagy; two brothers: Claude E. Sprinkle and Roy H. Sprinkle. Ed is survived by his wife of sixty years, Helen, whom he loved so much; Two sons: Edward Lynn and Randy Alan (Nola); Three grandsons: Kevin Lynn, Landon Neil (Savannah) and Preston Lee (Heather); One great-grandson, Arlo Jax and one great-granddaughter, Madelyn Grace of whom he was so proud.

He leaves behind two nieces; Judy Mills and Janie Phillips. He also leaves behind several cousins and lots of friends. Ed was a sales person at heart in clothing and furniture.

When he retired in the early 90’s, he was a volunteer for the American Red Cross in the distribution center, until health problems arose. At a young age, he was assistant Scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America. Corporal Ed Sprinkle proudly served in the United States Army for 2 years on active duty, followed by 6 years in the United States Army Reserve.

He served in the Artillery Branch where he was a Launcher Chief for guided missiles, responsible to ensure that all aspects of the launch were correctly calculated and setup prior to launch. Ed loved the Lord with all of his heart. He was saved and baptized at the age of 27.

He was ordained as a deacon in the early 60’s and he served the Lord in many capacities. His conversation with people he did not know, was always “How is your relationship with Jesus Christ? ” A special thank you to all his doctors and nurses, that cared for him through the years.

Funeral services for Ed Sprinkle will be conducted in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Donald Page, Rev. Kenneth Kyker and Jim Greene officiating.

Betty and Leon Wood in charge of music. UC Milhorn pianist. Friends will be received at Tetrick Funeral Services on Sunday, May 5, 2019 after 5:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 7:00 P.M. A committal service will be conducted on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home Tennessee with J.D. Hensley, Ken Francis, David Slonaker, Garry Shipley, Jimmy Shipley, Dwayne Sparks, David Clark and Ronnie McIntosh serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Don Sparks, Bill Harvey, Ronnie Rasnick and Gary Harrell. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the Mountain Home National Cemetery no later than 11:00 A.M.
