Edith’s Obituary Edith Kathleen Bush Stovall, 94 of Clinton, MS, a native of Pinola, died Sunday, January 20, 2019. Kathleen was born on December 2, 1924, daughter of John William and Julia Berry Bush. She was a member of First Baptist Church Clinton, MS.

She was also a member of Joy Makers Choir, the Senior Bell Choir, Hannah Sunday School Class, WMU Round Table and Forever Young Group. She received a BA degree from Blue Mountain College in 1947, a certification to teach public school music from the University of South Alabama in 1970 and a Master’s degree in English/Education from Mississippi College in 1974. She taught Junior High English and sponsored the school newspaper for twenty years in Memphis, Lucedale, Mobile and Jackson.

After retirement, she served twelve years as a volunteer at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Joe A. Stovall; brothers, E.C. Bush of Birmingham, AL, J.W. Bush and wife, Charles Bush of Pinola, MS, Truett Bush and wife of Atlanta, GA and one sister and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. J. Niles Puckett of Phoenix, AZ. Survivors include her son, Joe Henry Stovall III and wife, Ann Blair Thomas Stovall of Pensacola, FL; many nieces, nephews, cousins, several grand nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Betty Jo Bush of Birmingham, AL.

A private graveside service will be held in Clinton, Cemetery, Clinton, MS. Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church Clinton, 100 College St. Clinton, MS, 39056.
