Obituary for Edith Porterfield Edith Elease Dawkins Porterfield, 90, passed away September 7, 2018. A native of Pickens County, daughter of the late Walter Warren and Lola Belle Jones Warren Minner, she was the first of 5 original female police officers in Greenville and later retired from Fluor Daniel. She was a member of Lee Road Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Teresa Sloan (Jimmy) of Greer; a son, Jim Porterfield (DeNan) of Gray Court; four grandchildren, Jamie Porterfield (Margaret), Denise Taylor (Michael), Laura E. Sloan and Lesley Sloan; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by five siblings. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev.

Lynn Peden and Rev. Chris Criswell. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45p.m. Monday at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615 or www.
