Edith Rita (nee DiNardi) Rhoads, a 60 year resident of Havertown, Pa. passed away Sunday February 10, 2019. She was born June 22, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pa to Catherine Di Martino and Salvatore DiNardi.

Growing up in South Philadelphia she graduated from South Philadelphia High School for Girls. She was an Executive Secretary and Human Res Administrator with Bryn Mawr Hospital for many years. Mrs. Rhoads family and her faith were the most important things to her.

She dedicated her entire life to service to both of them and lived in God’s graces. She was able to carry on after losing her husband suddenly 21 years ago and remained involved with St. Denis parish and caring for her daughter Leslie. She was an avid reader, especially of all Taylor Caldwell novels.

She especially enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great grandson grow up. She attended many of their school and athletic activities through the years. She is so proud of each of them as they are now young adults and always wanted to know what and how they were doing.

She was also an active member of the St. Denis Seniors until four years ago. She is the wife of the late Charles H. Rhoads, mother of Dr. Charles C. Rhoads (Deborah) of Allison Park, Pa, Leslie E. Rhoads of Allison Park, Pa, Susan E. Bruening (Mark) of Mechanicsburg, Pa. .

grandmother of Charles C. Rhoads (Brianna) of Pittsburgh, Pa, Dr. Victoria A. Rhoads-Fildes (Christopher) of Knoxville, TN, M. Blaine Bruening, Jr (Lauren) of Mechanicsburg, Pa, Dr. Stephen R. Bruening of Mechanicburg, Pa, Daniel W. Bruening of Mechanicsburg, Pa. , great grandmother of Colin P. Bruening of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and sister of Mary A. Fuchs of Berwyn, Pa.

and the late Carmela Angarola and Albert DiNardi. Family and friends may call 9:30 to 10:45 AM Saturday, February 16, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Denis Church, 2401 St. Denis Lane, Havertown. Int SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
