Joan F. (nee McEntee) McLaughlin of Havertown and Sea Isle, N.J. passed away Thursday March 14, 2019. She was born February 13, 1936 in Washington, DC to Marie T. Wilkins and Walter P. McEntee. Joan grew up in North Philadelphia, Most Precious Blood Parish.

On September 8, 1956 she married John W. McLaughlin in St. Columba’s Church, Philadelphia. They have made their home in Havertown, Pa. , with summers in Sea Isle City, N.J. for the majority of their 62 years together.

Joan is a graduate of St. Peter’s Business School and worked as a Secretary at the Franklin Arsenal early in her career. She spent many happy years as a Mother and Homemaker. After her children were raised she returned to the working world as a Secretary in the English Department at Villanova University.

Joan’s pride and joy was her granddaughter, Samantha. She also enjoyed reading and spending time at the shore. Joan was predeceased by her husband, John W. McLaughlin, this past January.

She is the mother of Marie Maye and Kevin McLaughlin, grandmother of Samantha Maye, sister of Marie Linardo (late Frank), Walter P. McEntee, Jr, Margaret McEntee, Elizabeth McLaughlin (late Frank), Clare I. Marshall (Gary) and the late James McEntee (Christine). Family and friends may call 9:00 to 10:15 AM Wednesday, March 20, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Lane, Bryn Mawr. Interment St. Denis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Children’s Hospital “CHOP”, 3401 Civic Center Blvd, Phila. , Pa. 19104.
