Dryden, Jr. (Hunky), 71, transition from his earthly home, to be with the Lord in his heavenly home on January 5, 2019 at KU Medical Center. He was born on January 30, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Edward L. Dryden, Sr., and Aline (Henderson) Neal. Also, preceding him in death is one son, Edward L. Dryden, III (Tre’).
Edward was baptized at an early age at Faith Lutheran Church. Edward “Hunky” graduated from Sumner High School in 1965 in Kansas City, Kansas. He worked at Hallmark cards for 2 years.
He was an Investigator with the Kansas City Kansas Police Department for 25 years and kept busy with a host of security jobs. At the time of his passing, and true to his work ethic, Edward was employed for 4 years at McIntosh Law Firm as an investigator in Kansas City, Kansas and Lufti’s restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri as a member of management. True to the gentleman he was, Edward left a positive mark on all that met him.
He was mentor, teacher and friend to the many who referred to him as “Mr. Ed”. His favorite restaurants included… “EVERYWHERE”. Any restaurant suggestion made, Edward was going to try out the eating spots across town.
He loved spending time with family and friends. You could always catch Edward listening to old school music, playing bid whist, dominoes, or any board games. He loved cooking… and would be happy to prepare a meal for you if asked.
He, in his on right, was “Chef Boyaredee”. It may have taken a lifetime for Edward & Bonnie to find each other, but it was a 4 year love story that was remarkable and everlasting. If you would ask their friends and family… Bonnie and Pops were like 2 teenagers in love.
Loved ones that will cherish his memory are his loving wife Bonnie Frazier-Dryden; four children, Staci Dryden-Wilson (Darryl) of Kansas City, Kansas, Dwan Dryden (Tivonya) of Olathe, Kansas, Kristen Edwards (Anthony) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Marlon Frazier (Veretta) of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Martez Dryden of California; ten grandchildren, Jade Dryden, Sydney Dryden, Taylor Wilson, Kaci Wilson, Wesley Frazier, Jeremy Frazier, Frances Frazier, Madison Guy, Marley Frazier and Micah Frazier; a special niece, Tami Middleton; and a host of other relatives and special friends who will always cherish the time God allowed them to spend with Edward.
