Edward J. Bowman, 82, of Nye Rd. , Cortland, passed on May 21, 2018 in the Cortland Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born September 5, 1935, he was a 1953 graduate of Homer High School and enjoyed his career as a carpenter.

He was predeceased by his parents, the late John and Leona Weaver Bowman, and a brother John Bowman Jr. Surviving is his wife, Joanne Belden Bowman; sons Kim of Camillus; Brian (Barbara) of Ithaca and Steven (Kimberly) of Delmar; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Glenwood Cemetery, Homer, with Rev. Peter Williams officiating.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ed’s life on Tuesday, beginning at 2:00PM at his home, 489 Nye Rd. , Cortland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Bowman’s memory may be directed to the Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation, MBC-FOUNDATION, 12902 Magnolia Dr., Tampa, FL 33612, memo on check “Pancreatic Cancer”; or to the charity of one’s choice.
