Obituary for Edward J. Vanyo, Sr. Edward J. Vanyo Sr., 88, of Garfield, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018. Edward was born and raised in Passaic where he played semi-pro ball for the Passaic Highlanders. After moving to Garfield in 1947, Edward earned his Mechanic Certification from the Teterboro School of Aeronautics and worked as a Chemical Operator for Givaudan-Roure Fragrances Corporation in Clifton for over 40 years.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Passaic American Legion Post 200, Garfield VFW Post 2867 and the Givaudan Retiree Club. He was the beloved husband of the late Genevieve (Krisanda) Vanyo. Devoted father of Edward J. Vanyo Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Kure Beach, NC, Dale J. Vanyo and his wife, Carol Eveleens, of Rutherford, and Donna Vanyo-Best, of Garfield, and James Best.
