Obituary for Eileen J. Filicko Eileen J. (Kuruc) Filicko, 71, of Milford, CT, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, May 13, 2018. Born in Passaic, she spent most of her life in Garfield before settling in Milford, CT 17 years ago with her husband, Robert. Eileen was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church in Garfield and was a part of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and a Communion Minister to the Sick and Homebound.

Eileen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and two Master’s Degrees in Child Psychology and Clinical Psychology from Seton Hall University. She was a Special Education Teacher in the Garfield School System then the Director of Special Education in the Bergen County School System for many years before retiring in 1998. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Filicko, dear sister of Marilyn Anzalone, of Garfield, and loving mom to her late dog, Jingles.
