Eileen M. Elliott, 91, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Silver Cross – Friendship Manor, Rock Island with her husband, Ed, at her side. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Those who wish to attend services should meet at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave.

, Rock Island by 12:30 p.m. to form the procession. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UnityPoint Hospice – Quad Cities. Eileen was born on August 8, 1926 in Zeeland, North Dakota, a daughter of Stafford and Martha Wagner.

Her family moved around as she was growing up, living in the Eleroy, IL area as a young child, Milwaukee, WI as a youth, and then graduating high school in Rock Island, IL, where she lived the rest of her life. Eileen was married to Edward Elliott for nearly 70 years. She enjoyed a long career as a nurse, working at Moline Lutheran Hospital, St. Luke’s in Davenport and also as a private nurse for a short time.

She primarily worked as a plant nurse at JI Case/Tenneco. For many years, Ed and Eileen enjoyed their weekends together at their cottage on the Mississippi River and spent their Winters in Florida. Her love for Ed and her family gave her great joy and fulfillment.

Left to cherish Eileen’s memory are her husband, Ed; sister in law, Dorothy Coulson and many loving nephews, nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cliff and sisters, Carolina, Izabelle and Dorothy.
