Hubert S. Brown, 96, of Rock Island, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Silver Cross Health and Rehabilitation Pavilion at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. Funeral services for Hubert will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave. , Rock Island.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Boston Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Hubert was born on March 7, 1922 in Warren Co., Illinois, a son of Ralph E. and Grace (McIntyre) Brown. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and served overseas. Hubert married Nancy E. Fausett on November 27, 1947 in New Boston.

Nancy passed away February 15, 2010. Hubert worked for the Rock Island School District as a Custodian at Denkmann Elementary School for 29 years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved watching sports.

Left to cherish his memory are brothers in law, Jerry Fausett of Aledo, Rodney Fausett of Mt. Dora, FL and many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. Hubert was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; parents; sisters, Mildred Slaby, Marjorie Lewis, Veryl Johnston, June Christian, Bonnie Saunders, Izora Callahan; and brothers, Gerald, Willard, Delmar and Dale Brown.
