Terry L. Hoogerwerf, of New Boston, Ill. , passed away Thursday July 5, 2018 at UnityPoint-Trinity, Rock Island. A memorial gathering and Celebration of Terry’s life will be 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday July 11, 2018 at East End Bolders Club, 3712 4th Ave.

, Moline. Memorials may be made to the New Boston Fire and Ambulance Department. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Terry LeRoy Hoogerwerf was born February 21, 1940 in Moline, the son of Joseph and Una Lind Hoogerwerf. He graduated from United Township High School, Class of 1958. He married Beverly Harksen.

She preceded him in death on November 6, 2013. Following high school, Terry served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was employed with the City of East Moline, Water Department from 1964 until his retirement in 1995.

He was a proud member of AFSCME Local 1234. Terry loved trains, tractors, PBR and being a farmer. Surviving are his children and their spouses, Dawn and Jeff Woodworth, Davenport, Traci and Daryl DeVries, Hamilton, Oh.

, Michelle Hoogerwerf, Titusville, Fla. , and Alissa Wiley, Waynesville, N.C., Jeff and Jennifer Hoogerwerf, Keithsburg; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous nephews and additional family; and close family friends, Dan and Jean Schroeder, New Boston. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; mother, Una Lind Studebaker; wife, Beverly; and his sister, Linda Claus.
