Karen C. Crowe, 78, of Moline, formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Aspen Rehabilitation and Health Center, Silvis. Services for Karen will be 11 am, Saturday at the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 – 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.

Additional visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of the service. Casual attire is requested by the family. Inurnment will be in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Karen was born on April 30, 1940 in Galva, Illinois, the daughter of Russell and Eleanor (Looney) Carter. Ms. Crowe worked as a Nutrition Community Worker for the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Service for 37 years, retiring in 2004. Karen had been volunteer for Pathway Hospice for five years and was a 4-H Leader for 28 years.

She was a master gardener and was a member of Two Rivers United Methodist Church, Rock Island. She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Ronda Ford (Mike Minarsich), Moline, Mike (Jo Jo) Ford, Rock Island, Julie (John) Smith, East Moline and Bonnie (Doug) Crowe-Tarver, Muskogee, OK.

; 21 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; a brother, Gerald (Melissa) Carter; honorary son, Craig (Jenny) Adams; special friends, Kathy, Lori, Delores. Karen was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Randy Crowe-Ford, Warren Crowe Jr.; and a granddaughter, Bethanie Crowe-Tarver.
