Sue C. Lewarne, 75, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island, surrounded by her loving husband and children. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held for Sue on Saturday, September 29th at the Hauberg Estate, 1300 24th St., Rock Island from 6 to 8 p.m. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Sue was born on October 4, 1942 in Springfield, MO, a daughter of Bernard Corson II and Wynne (Rinnman) Corson.

She earned her bachelor of arts degree in Journalism in 1964 from the University of Iowa and married John R. Lewarne the very next day, on June 6, 1964 in Iowa City. Sue worked as a financial advisor for Ausdal Financial Partners, Inc. for over 15 years. Sue was an active member of the PEO sisterhood and the Antique Auto Club of America.

She was an Iowa Hawkeye through and through and closely followed all of the football and basketball games. Sue was also a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John R.; children, Nancy (Todd) Axlund, Sharon Twp. , OH; John H. Lewarne of Rock Island, Steven Lewarne of Parker, CO; grandchildren, Grace and Samantha Axlund and Corson and Emmaline Lewarne; a sister, Wynne Corson, Chicago and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Natalie Lapham and brother, Bernard Corson III.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the PEO Educational Loan Fund and sent to P.O. Box 5045, Rock Island, 61204-5045.
