Milton R. Johnson, 90, of Moline, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Genesis-Illini Campus, Silvis. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.

Inurnment will be held at National Cemetery, Rock Island, with military rites provided by Moline Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, Moline. Milton was born on January 21, 1928 in Moline, the son of Oscar and Hildur Johnson.

He married Beverly Bardoel on May 2, 1953 at the Ascension Chapel, Augustana College. Milton was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WWII. He was active for many years in Cub Scouts and Boy Scout Troup 335 as an adult leader and Scoutmaster.

He was also an active member of Salem Lutheran Church, and the Thor Lodge Viking I.O.V. Milton was a 1946 graduate of Moline Sr. High School as well as a 1952 graduate of Augustana College and retired from Quad City Die Casting, Co., Moline. He enjoyed going fishing, and made many trips up to Canada with his friends. Milton is survived by his sons, Milton Dean (Carol) Johnson, Bettendorf and Dennis (Pamela) Johnson, St. Louis, MO.

; daughter, Cheryl (Joe) Withers, East Moline; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sisters, Betts Meyers, St Louis, MO and Maureen Archibald, Moline. He was preceded by his wife, Beverly Johnson; parents; and sisters, Gladys Wilson and Joyce Neaman.
