Mary “Eileen” Fuhr, 88, of Illinois City, passed on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at her residence. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave. , Milan.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Buffalo Prairie Cemetery, Buffalo Prairie, IL. Memorials may be made to Unity Point Hospice.

Eileen was born on February 26, 1930 in Rock Island, the daughter of William B. and Mary R. (Curry) O’Brien. She married Robert W. Fuhr on December 28, 1950 at Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island. They farmed together in Illinois City and enjoyed caring for the land, turkeys, hogs, and cattle.

Eileen was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Taylor Ridge. When she was younger she enjoyed playing tennis and ice skating at Big Island Canal. She was active in the Andalusia Fire District Auxillary, and was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader in her early years.

Eileen helped on the family farm, worked at Andalusia Bank, and Paul’s Clothing Store, Muscatine. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren attending their events. Eileen is survived by her children, Terri Fuhr, Chicago, Penny (Brad) Blaser, Taylor Ridge, and Susan Fuhr, Tonka Bay, MN; grandchildren, Andi Gulley, Michelle Frieden, Jonathan Frieden, Robert Frieden, Mary Liz James, Daniel Frieden, Isaac Frieden, Kayti Eileen Fuhr, Thomas Blaser, Brody Scholl, and Griffin Scholl; great grandchildren, John Gulley, Caleb Gully, Bo Gulley, Pearl Robin Frieden, Addi Frieden, Ceelia Frieden, Faith Robin Frieden, Fisher Frieden, Walker Frieden, Mason Frieden, John Frieden, Same James, Eliza James, Lucy James, Erie James, Luke Frieden, and Robin Frieden; brother, Robert Garland; and son-in-law, John Frieden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Fuhr; parents; daughter, Robin Frieden; and 3 grandchildren, Brady, Logan, and Joshua Blaser.
