Billy R. Goodnight, 83, of Reynolds, passed away Wednesday July 11, 2018 at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 16th, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 801 W. Edgington St., Reynolds. Burial will be at Reynolds Cemetery, Reynolds.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Billy was born January 9, 1935 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, a son of Rudolph and Ruby King Goodnight. He married Patricia J. Schnell on February 6, 1954 in Galesburg, Ill.

Billy was employed for 35 years with John Deere Plow & Planter Works. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 434. He attended Reynolds United Methodist Church and enjoyed participating in many church activities.

In earlier years, he played church league softball. He loved being with family and friends, gardening, being outdoors, camping and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Patricia, of Reynolds; children (and spouses), Deborah (Richard) Farnsworth, Coal Valley, Elizabeth (John) Goodnight-Kincaid, Bettendorf, Cathy (Patrick) Fowler, Reynolds, and Jeff (Amy) Goodnight, Reynolds; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; brother, John (Judy) Goodnight, Coal Valley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Steven Goodnight.
