Kathryn J. Schomer, 82, of Milan, passed away Sunday July 29, 2018 at her home. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.

Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan. Kathryn was born September 18, 1935 in Rock Island, a daughter of William and Viva Seager Eberts. She married Richard “Dick” Schomer, Sr. on March 6, 1954 in Rock Island.

He preceded her in death on September 8, 2004. She and her husband owned and operated the Coal Valley Cafe and K & R Enterprises for many years. Kathryn was a member of Blackhawk Fire Department Auxiliary for many years.

She will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished her children and grandchildren, and caring for her pet dogs. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Cheryl and Bill Tribbett, Milan, Rick and Julie Schomer, Rock Island, Terry and Tracy Schomer, Coyne Center, Lori and Pat Schmidt, Coyne Center, and Dan and Kristie Schomer, Milan; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant sons, Greg and Donald; and siblings, Robert and William “Bill” Eberts, Wilma Rimes, Tootie Conover, Henretta Roberts and Judith Cates.
