Obituary for Elaine Rouse Marie Elaine Rouse, 76, of Ayden, passed away on November 19, 2018 at OakHaven in Greenville. She was born on May 13, 1942 in Pitt Co., NC to Sam Manning and Lilly Braxton Nobles. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jeffrey Manning Nobles.

As a child, Elaine grew up attending Bethany FWB Church with her parents. Elaine loved the Lord and her church families. She was a longtime member of Elm Grove FWB Church and enjoyed singing in the choir for many years.

Her love of music carried over to her everyday life and she could often be found dancing and singing in the house or the halls of the local nursing home. Elaine was employed in the Banking Industry where she worked as a Secretary for Wachovia Bank for many years. In addition to her professional career, she was a full time wife and mother.

She spent several years in Germany with her husband, who was serving in the U.S. Army. Together they raised their two children. Elaine was a past member of the Red Hat Society.

She enjoyed being social but her fondest memories were of those spend with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her. Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Mr. Robert Rouse, of the home; two sons, Robert Alvin Rouse Jr. and wife, Tina and William Randall Rouse and wife, Sandra, all of Ayden; four precious grandchildren, Matthew Rouse, Justin Rouse and wife, Nikki, Graham Rouse and wife, Heather and Lesliann Rouse; five great grandchildren, Sylas, Jackson, Chloe, Layla and Charlotte.

She also leaves behind two brothers-in-law, James T. Rouse and Joseph Degnan as well as many extended family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday November 25, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Elm Grove FWB Church, 5413 Weyerhaeuser Rd. Ayden, NC.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to Asceracare Hospice, 112 W. Firetower Rd. , Winterville, NC 28590.
