Obituary of Eldon Spaid Eldon S. Spaid, age 97 years, of Plymouth Meeting, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Eldon was born in Winchester, VA on Wednesday, November 2, 1921, son of the late John A. and Clara (LaFollete) Spaid. He was a member of Plymouth Meeting ECC Church.

He served as a Tech Sgt. in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, & World War II Victory Ribbon. Eldon worked as a Freight Agent with Pennsylvania and Conrail Railroads.

Eldon was a sports fanatic and particularly loved baseball and football. He also enjoyed traveling and was an avid stamp collector. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was the beloved husband of the late Charlotte (Charles) Spaid. He is survived by his children, Larry (& Bobbie) Spaid of West Chester and Barbara (& Ron) Halter of Philadelphia as well as 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John, Willard, Arthur, Robert & Genevieve.

His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 15 at 11:00 AM from the Moore, Snear & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428 with The Reverend Stephanie Wilson officiating. His viewing will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
