Eleanor E. Scheetz, 98, of Beatrice, passed away Saturday morning, March 9, 2019 at Beatrice Health and Rehab. She was born on September 19, 1920 at Pickrell and attended country school. She moved to Beatrice at the age of 20 and worked at Swiss and Co. for 14 years and then at Formfit for over 25 years.

Following her retirement in 1984, she was the custodian at Fox Funeral Home for 20 years. She married William L. Scheetz on June 30, 1959. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice, the Rebecca Circle and American Legion Auxiliary Bitting-Norman Post # 27 of Beatrice.

She had been a longtime volunteer at the Bargain Box in Beatrice and enjoyed keeping busy and dancing. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Glenna Oltman of Lincoln; sister, Marie (Ervin) Buhr of Adams; sister-in-law, Angeline Oltman of Beatrice; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Diedrich and Antje Zimmerman Oltman; husband, William Scheetz, who died on November 17, 1981; son, Norbert Oltman, who died on June 30, 2002; four brothers, Dick (Violet) Oltman, Lenhart Oltman, Reinder (LaVada) Oltman, and Edward (Dorothy) Oltman; two sisters, Lena (Menne) Ideus, and Helen (John) Jurgens; brother-in-law, Donald DeBuhr.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice with Pastor Ernesto Medina and Pastor Leah Lawson officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Wednesday in the chapel of the church.

The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. on Monday until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday and then one hour preceding the service at the church on Wednesday. A memorial has been established to the families choice with Rosetta Poole and Marian Melcher in charge. www.
