Eleanor J. Montecalvo, 86 of Rootstown passed away Tuesday May 8, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. She was born September 23, 1931 in Barnsboro, Pennsylvania to the late Louis and Marie (Peron) Lann. Mrs Montecalvo has lived in Rootstown the past 53 years and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna.

She enjoyed both her flower gardens and her vegetable gardens, where she loved canning and also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Survivors include her husband Michael Montecalvo whom she married April 28, 1952, her children Sandra Blazewick, Michael (Alfreda) Montecalvo, Jr., Jeff (Donna) Montecalvo, Jean (Jeff) Smith, Karen (Scott) Ridenour, ten grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and sister Pat Diebel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Clifford, Frances and Kathryn.

Calling hours will be 6-8 PM Thursday May 10, 2018 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday May 11, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna with burial to follow in Grandview Memorial Park Ravenna, Ohio. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Immaculate Conception Church 409 W. Main St. Ravenna, Ohio 44266 or to St. Judes Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
