Harold E. Messmore, 72, of Ravenna, passed away Monday April 30, 2018 at Wade Park VA Hospice in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born November 18, 1945 in Polk, Ohio to the late Paul and D. Grace (Farmer) Messmore. Mr. Messmore has lived in Ravenna since 1980 belonging to the AAPCO Ravenna Hunting and Fishing Club and was formerly of Sullivan and Fostoria where he was a 1964 graduate from Black River High School.

He was a veteran of the US Navy serving his country in the Vietnam War. Mr. Messmore retired in 2006 from the Chrysler Corporation where he worked as a press operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Okal Shunkweiler, Bill Messmore, Raymond Messmore and the mother of his son Lavon “Kay” (Cross) Messmore.

Survivors include his son Michael Messmore, his grandchildren Ali Patton, Chasey Messmore, Michael Thomas Messmore, Michaela Messmore, his great grandchildren Emersyn, Itherael, Roland and siblings Larry (Marylin) Messmore and Emma Messmore. At his requests, cremation has taken place. Committal with military honors will be 2:00 PM Thursday May 10, 2018 at the Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery Rittman, Ohio.

A Celebration of Mr. Messmore’s life will be Monday May 28, 2018 at Lake Hodgson Hall in Ravenna at 2:00 PM. Condolences and memories of Harold may be shared with his family at www. sscfuneralhomes.com.
