Eleanor Marie Giebeler was born December 20, 1941 at Mercy Hospital in Merced, California, passed on May 16th, 2018 in Merced, Ca, at the age of 76. She was the daughter of Mary and Joe Souza. She married Bryce Giebeler in 1961 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Merced.

Together they raised two children, Bryan and Brenda. After high school graduation in 1959, she was employed by the Merced County Superintendent of Schools and retired with 42 years of service. She was a member of the Merced Roaming Elk, Club Mercedes, and enjoyed camping, cards, fishing, gardening, crocheting, and gathering with friends and family.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Bryce Giebeler and her parents, Mary and Joe Souza. She leaves behind her son, Bryan (Miriam) Giebeler, daughter, Brenda L. Valdez and six grandchildren, Dylan, Krystal, Hadley, and Hayden Giebeler, Mikayla and Macy Valdez, and brothers, Joe (Sandy) Souza, and Frank (Lori) Liberini. A memorial service will be held at Ivers and Alcorn Funeral Home, Merced, CA.

on June 8th, 2018 at 1p.m. Burial will be private at the Snelling District Cemetery, Snelling, CA. Celebration of life will be held at Snelling Community Recreation Building at Henderson Park, from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. www.
