OBITUARY Elizabeth Hagwood January 29, 1938 – November 23, 2018 Elizabeth Ann ( Swink) Hagwood, 80, of Waynesboro passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Curis at Waynesboro. She was born in Waynesboro on January 29, 1938, a daughter of the late Walter Alvin and Bessie Mae (Brown) Swink. Ann was a member of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church.

She had a passion for serving people, especially the elderly. Ann served as a director with the Waynesboro Senior Center. Quilting, doing arts and crafts, and cooking were a few of her favorite hobbies, but spending time with her family was the most important.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Gene Filmore Hagwood of Waynesboro; children, Geffry Kent Hagwood and wife, Leigh Anne of Forest, Jill Hagwood Bowen of Centerville, and Brent Joseph Hagwood and wife, Kathryn of Wytheville; grandchildren, Kellan, Graham, and Milah Hagwood, Elizabeth and Lauren Bowen, and Thomas Hagwood; siblings, John Swink and wife, Jean of Waynesboro, Gary Swink and wife, Dana Belcastro of Los Angeles, and Susan Johnson and husband, Ronald of Verona; nephew, Tim Swink; nieces, Kim Hardy and Kim Hensley; as well as extended family and her church friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church, 688 Highland Ave, Waynesboro, with Pastor Janet Knott, officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Christopher Heck and the staff at Curis at Waynesboro for their loving care of Ann and her family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
