Funeral Services for Elizabeth Joyce Fingerlin, 82, will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2491 Emmanuel Church Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.

Ms. Fingerlin passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018. Born in Bennettsville, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth Dial Herndon. She grew up in Georgetown where she graduated from Winyah High School in 1955.

She then went on to attend Columbia College. Ms. Fingerlin was employed with the State Port Authority in Charleston and retired from the Georgetown School District after 30 years of service. While in Georgetown, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, involved in the choir, and a member of WELCA.

As a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, she was secretary of Dorcas Circle, a member of the choir, the adult Sunday School, and the Emmanuel Special People of the church. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels at Pine Ridge for a couple of years. Ms. Fingerlin is survived by her sons, Alfred “Trey” E. Fingerlin, III (Gina), Francis H. Fingerlin (Rebecca), and Martin L. Fingerlin (Mary); grandchildren, Reagan, Ryan, LeeAnna, Adam, Claire, Grayson, and Gabe Fingerlin; sister-in-law, Deenie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Alfred E. Fingerlin, Jr.; brother-in-law, Rev. Henry Fingerlin; and quadruplet grandchildren, Anna Marie, Johnna Lee, Savanna Joyce, and Christa Paige.
