John “Mike” Michael Gilstrap, 67, passed away peacefully Friday, July 6, 2018. Born May 31, 1951 in Greenville, SC, he was a son of the late John Harley and Stella Armetrus Gilstrap. Mike worked and retired from UPS after 30+ years; starting from the loading docks, to driving trucks, up to HR Management.

He enjoyed golf, NASCAR, and living on the lake. Mike was an avid Gamecocks fan. Survivors include his wife Glenda; daughter Susan Childs (Darren); son Ben Gilstrap; grandchildren Jacob (Destiny), Lindsey, Lauren; two great grandchildren; brothers Kenny (Aliesa) and Donnie (Genie); nephews Justin (Laura) and Griffin (Heather);Josh (Megan), Ryan (Katherine); niece Emily (Auston); four great nieces; and a great nephew.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 3-5 pm, at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel. Funeral services for Mike Gilstrap will be held 1 pm, Monday, July 9, 2018 at Woods Mortuary, 300 W. Poinsett St., Greer, SC, with the visitation beginning at 12pm, noon. Burial will follow at Graceland East, 2206 Woodruff Rd.
