Pelion – Elisa Kay “ChooChoo” Benson passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with Reye’s Syndrome. Elisa was the daughter of Pearl “Dolly” Strickland and the late Jimmy Benson. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Pete and Etta Miller; paternal grandparents, Charlie and Florie Benson; brother Lil’ David Strickland and stepfather David Strickland.

Left to cherish her memory is her mother, seven brothers, Clayton, Robert (Stephanie), and Brian (Jennifer) Benson, George (Cynda) Leach, Albert, Tony and Jake Strickland; six sisters, Louwana (Greg) Rollins, Judy White, Odessa (Jeff) Hancock, Libby (Willie) Nelson, Juanita (Anastacio) Rayon and April (Alfredo) Barron; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, with the Rev. Henry Cooper officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
