Obituary for Elizabeth “Liz” M. Whitten Elizabeth Marie Whitten , 41 of Groveport born January 25th 1977 went home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2018. She is the daughter of John I & Sharon H. Whitten of Groveport. Liz is survived by her parents John & Sharon, sister Christine ( Matthew) Petty, brother John W ( Kimberly) Whitten.

The light of her life her nieces and nephews. Amanda Petty, Zachery (Jaycie) Petty, Jenna Morgan Whitten, JD Whitten, Teagan Whitten and great niece Lillian Grace Petty. Aunts Cheryl ( Dennis) Landon, Karen Eagleson, Sondra Eagleson, Evelyn Darr , Mary Russ & Agnes Whitten : Uncles, Mike ( Barb ) Eagleson & Barry ( Julie) Harshbarger, & numerous cousins.

Loving best friends Michelle Martin Marioth, Shellie Priest, Tiffany Bolden Wermter, Dr. Debu Bhattacharyya, Heidi Harris Fields Erin McMullen, childhood pen pal from Italy Diana Tedesco & numerous other awesome friends . Preceded in death by her grandparents Don & Connie Eagleson, Waldo Harshbarger, Harry & Hazel Whitten, Uncles Steve Eagleson , Terry Eagleson & Wesley Whitten. Liz was a kind, compassionate , intelligent and loving person.

She loved the Lord and was a member of Madison Christian Church where she was also baptized as a teen. She loved her family and friends. She was a very proud aunt who adored her nieces and nephews.

Liz was active in supporting animal rights, human rights , the fight against cancer, lymphoma and epilepsy & an activist for many other causes including fighting against the stigma of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and addiction . She was a proud cancer survivor. She loved blasting her worship music while singing off tune, collecting Hello Kitty , Madeline and anything from France, a good debate , spending time with her fur babies Rosie & Jimmy Carter, dancing, French club and most important spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Groveport Madison High School. She earned her degree from Ohio University in Political Science/ Pre Law. She attended Capital Law School prior to her battle with Lymphoma.

She was active in the Democratic Party and worked on numerous national , state and local campaigns. Liz made an impact on all those she came in contact with. Her smile would light up a room and her laugh was contagious.

She had a very funny sense of humor, one of her favorite quotes from her sister was ” Over 40 bangs or Botox” . She had the ability to make those around her feel special. She had a joyful spirit , passionate about life and inspired many.

She will be missed but her legacy of kindness, compassion and loving people will live on forever. Services will be held at Madison Christian Church lead by Pastor Paul Barnes 3565 Bixby Rd. Groveport, Ohio Visitation Friday June 8th 4pm-8pm Celebration of Life Saturday June 9th 1pm Visitation 1 hour prior to service.
