Ella Mae Rackley Rackley March 17, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Ella Mae Rackley Rackley, 101, a resident of Hampton Manor in Gaston, died March 17, 2019 at Halifax Regional Medical Center. Mrs.Rackley was born August 6, 1917 in New Hanover County to James R. and Mary Owens Rackley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings and their spouses; her husband, Carl Willie Rackley; and her daughter, Shirley Kay Rackley.

Survivors include her sons, James William Rackley and wife Jeanette, of Lenoir, NC, and Carl Houston Rackley and wife Vivian, of Roanoke Rapids; grandchildren, Janet Rackley, Carla Gardner and husband Shawn, and Jamie Rackley; great-grandsons, Edward Gardner, Joshua Gardner and wife Beth, and Daniel Gardner; great-granddaughter, Mandy Faison; and a great-great granddaughter, Annabelle Gardner. The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service from 6:00 – 7:30 pm Tuesday. The funeral service for Mrs. Rackley will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 pm Wednesday, with burial following in Cedarwood Cemetery.
