Ellen J. Gridley, 59, of Viola passed away peacefully at home Sunday, September 2, 2018 after a brief battle with Glioblastoma cancer. She was born November 16, 1958 at the Richland Center Hospital, the daughter of Eldon and Marlene (Long) Storer. After graduating from Richland Center High School, she began working at O’Bryan’s.

While working at Rockwell, Ellen met her husband David Gridley and they enjoyed 15 years together.

Ellen enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, baking, and cooking. She also enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren. Ellen’s greatest joy were her grandchildren and the time she was able to spend with them.

Ellen is survived by her husband David Gridley of Viola, WI; mother Marlene (Ron) Curtis of Viola, WI; children: Angela (Larry) Barreau of La Valle, WI, Stacy (Jamie) Laeseke of Richland Center, WI; grandchildren : Ava and Olivia Barreau, Lilly, Hunter, and Jensen Laeseke; Siblings: Joyce (Mike) Stambaugh of Marion, IN, John (Chris) Storer of Richland Center, WI; mother-in-law Helen Gridley; sisters-in-law: Mary (Terry) Kettle and Tracey Gridley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ellen was preceded in death by her father Eldon Storer and her grandparents. Celebration of life services will be held on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel, 120 North Park Street, Richland Center, WI.

Burial will follow in the Richland Center Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM and again Monday, September 10, 2018 from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
