Obituary for Elmer Garland Hurd CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – Elmer Garland Hurd, 69, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee. He was born in Castlewood, Virginia; son of the late Samuel and Eunia Meade Hurd. He attended Sabra’s Chapel Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Hurd; two daughters, Amie Sue Hurd of Castlewood, Virginia and Tanya Glovier and husband, Mark of Castlewood, Virginia; one sister, Thelma Meade and husband, Paul of Castlewood, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Norma Lee Hurd of Michigan; seven grandchildren, Hope, Heather, Hannah, Arizona, CarterBeth, Hank, and Kash; nine great grandchildren, Fayln, Layla, Conor, Mason, Davin, Marcus, Ava, Diana, and Marshall; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Elmer Garland Hurd will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Wayne Meade and Rev.

Arville Dingus officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 in Hurd Family Cemetery, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Pallbearers will be Mike Sims, Jeff Meade, Jackie Meade, Mark Glovier, Eric Hurd, and Rex Gilreath. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeramy Maxfield, Tom Ray, Justin Grizzle, and Hunter Meade. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
