OBITUARY Elmer “The Sign King” Ashton Ennis Jr. September 24, 1937 – December 8, 2018 Elmer “The Sign King” Ashton Ennis Jr, 81 of King George passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was Owner and Operator of Ennis Sign Company, where he was known as the “Sign King”. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillie Mae Donovan Ennis in 2005.

He is survived by his companion, Jackie Calloway; three sons, Elmer Ennis and wife, Jessica, Donald “Bubba” Ennis and wife Bonnie and David Ennis and fiancé, Chelsea; seven daughters, Anna Ellington, Gloria ton and husband, Richard, Ellen Harris and her late husband, Jim, Martha Minor and husband, Paul, Rosa Girtian and husband, Troy, Debbie Carter and husband, Lee, and Alicia Ennis; one sister, Susie Decatur and husband Steamboat; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his beloved cat, Gabby. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg from 6-8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the funeral home at 11:00 am, interment will follow in Ramoth Baptist Church Cemetery.
