Elna’s Obituary Elna P. Hewitt, age 77, of Huron, SD passed away on Saturday February 28, 2019 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her memorial service will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Huron Baptist Church with burial at the Rawlins Cemetery in Rawlins, WY at a later date. Visitation will one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Elna P. Campbell, the daughter of Edward and Zelda (Rodabaugh) Campbell, was born on June 6, 1941 in Wheatland, WY. She grew up and attended school in the Rawlins area and graduated from Rawlins High School. Elna was a homemaker.

Elna married James Hewitt on October 10, 1964 in Rawlins, WY. The couple lived in Rawlins, WY, Colorado, Michigan, and North Dakota before moving to Huron in 2007. Elna was a member of the BCNU Extension Club.

She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them and playing UNO and Checkers with her great-grandkids. Elna loved to tell stories. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting and collecting earrings.

Elna’s favorite color was purple. Grateful for having shared in Elna’s life are her husband, James of Huron, SD; two sons: Leslie (Suzanne) Hewitt of Huron, SD and Jimmy Hewitt of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren: Derrik, Brittani, Cortanni, Rachel, and Joslyn; ten great-grandchildren: Richard, Chasety, Royse, Nitascha, Ruben, Deegan, Henry, Sharon, Roseahlynn, and Rownan; brother, Leland (Sandy) Campbell of California; and several nieces and nephews. Elna was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Larry Campbell.
