Elton Jay Willcox, age 90, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at the Laurels of Summit Ridge Health Care Center in Asheville. He was a native of Willoughby (Lake County) Ohio. He was born on September 21, 1928 to the late Willis W. and Lula Alberta Tripp Willcox.

He was a resident of the Asheville area for several years. He was in Management with Diamond Shamrock Chemical Company. Mr. Willcox was a member Buckeye Baptist Church.

He was also a veteran of the US Coast Guard. Mr. Willcox is survived by his wife of 70 ½ years Audrey Mullis Willcox of the home. His son Gerald Willcox of Asheville, his daughter Vicki Willcox of Greenville SC.

He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren Dustin Shane Evancho of Greenville SC and Rebecca Joy Kapp of Phoenix AZ. And 7 Great-Grandchildren. Mr. Willcox is also survived by his twin brother Alton Ray Willcox of Cleveland OH and sister Nancy Koran of Cleveland OH.

A celebration of his life will be held at Buckeye Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Cribb officiating. Date and times for this service will be announced.
