It is with great sadness that the family of Jerry Lynn Hamlet announces his death due to complications from a stoic battle against Burkitt lymphoma. Jerry spent his final days at home surrounded by his five children and eleven grandchildren, per his final wish. He was born May 21, 1946 in Lexington, North Carolina to William (Pat) and Ruth Hamlet.

God sent his angels to escort Jerry into heaven on January 30, 2019. A man of patience and few words who loved graciously. Jerry was an electroplater by trade and the owner of Precision Plating.

Jerry was an avid golfer and enjoyed his competive “Nine and Dine” group on Thursdays at Asheville’s Municipal Golf Course. He took his entire family to Lake Keowee to water ski, fish, and camp over decades. He will forever be remembered for loving Country Western television and was a “true cowboy at heart”.

Known to family as “Pa”, Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his partner in crime and wife of 37 years, Carol Hamlet. They raised five children, Christopher (Julia), Mark (Tasha), Dana, Ti (Kyle & children), and Jamie. Eleven grandchildren that are his pride and joy: Devian, Christian, Tierra, Patricia, Deja, Marcez (Jasmine), Tyree, Eric, Maddux, Noah, Maverick.

Two great-grandchildren: Adonai and Taeden. Jerry’s celebration of life memorial will be held on Sunday, February 3rd, 2019 at the Broadmoor Golf Course, located at 101 French Broad Ln, Fletcher, NC 28732. Family and friends will fellowship from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
