Obituary for Emanuel A. Saccente Emanuel A. Saccente, 91, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2018 at the Addeo House on SI. He was born and raised in Port Richmond and was the youngest of 11 children. Upon his marriage to his beloved wife, Dorothy, nee Vassalo, he settled in Eltingville.

Emanuel was proud of his service in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands, achieving the rank of Corporal. After his service, he joined his brother, John’s business, and in 1980 after his brother passed away, he became the sole proprietor of South Shore Dental Lab, retiring in 2015 at the age of 88. He and his wife loved ballroom dancing so much that in the 1950’s they taught classes.

He also enjoyed opera, ballet, fine dining, carpentry, and all the culture NYC had to offer. He was an avid reader, and was known for his sharp wit and great sense of humor. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy, who passed away in 1987.

He is survived by his daughters, Libby and Gloria; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Dorothy, Emily, Joey, John and Anthony and his great granddaughter, Olivia Rose. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Clare Church, located at 110 Nelson Ave. . Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
