Obituary for Margaret Nelson Margaret Nelson of Eltingville passed away on Monday October 15, 2018 at Staten Island University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Brooklyn to the late William and Catherine Mahon, Margaret was the last of her 13 siblings. A woman who enjoyed life to its fullest, Margaret was proud of her Irish heritage.

In her spare time she enjoyed wathcing TV, especially movies. She loved to sing and dance. She was an avid fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers, but became a Mets fan when they moved to Los Angeles.

What she dervived the most pleasure and joy from was being with her family especially her 9 grandchildren. Margaret was a member of the Mount Loretto Friendship Club. She is survived by her daughters Joanne Nelson and Laura Mollica and her husband James, her son Daniel and his wife Karen and her beloved 9 grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday from 2:00-4:00PM & 7:00-9:00PM at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals Inc. 28 Eltingville Blvd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday begining at 10:00AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
