Another star will shine brightly above in our sky as Emily E. Wickes passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2019 with family members by her side. Emily Edwina Mathewson was born on October 1, 1930 to the late Alexander and Margaret (Gardiner) Mathewson in Saginaw. She married William Jarvis Wickes III on July 13, 1950.

Emily was a long-standing member of the First Congregational Church. She was a former member of the Junior League of Saginaw and was a long-time devoted volunteer at Saginaw General Hospital Auxillary for over 30 years. Emily embraced life and shined her light by sharing herself with family, friends and flowers.

Surviving are her brother, Edward Mathewson, her sister, Esther Barris, children: Ashley Hill Wickes, Lisa Wickes Wondergem and her husband, Douglas, William Jarvis Wickes IV and his wife, LeeAnne and their son Bill Wickes, and many cherished nieces, nephews, relatives and Katie Marie and Tyler. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jarvis. Memorial services are pending for Emily.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, Alzheimer’s Association or the Higgins Lake Foundation. Arrangements will be announced by W. L.
