HOVIS Emma June, 94, of Ashville, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018. June was born June 29, 1924, in Perryville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Wade and Cora Mae (Cooper) Haugh. She is survived by her children, Gail (Lee) Curry and Gary (Karen) Hovis; grandchildren, Zack (Christi) Curry, Kyle (Crystal) Curry, Nick and Leslee Brynn Hovis; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Noah, Tyler and Belle Curry; sister Mary Kriebel and sister-in-law Freida Haugh, nieces and nephews and their families.

June and her family were blessed by the loving care provided her over the years by the Pickaway Manor staff and in recent months by the Heartland Hospice staff. She was preceded in death in 2007 by her loving husband of 62 years, Ray Kline Hovis, whom she married June 30, 1945 in West Freedom, Pennsylvania; by sisters Cleta (Eugene) England and Nancy Haugh, by brothers Harold (Sara), John, William, LeRoy (Irene), and Harry (Dora), and brother-in-law Roy Kriebel. Ray’s Air Force career allowed June and Ray to make their home over the years in Alaska, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Ohio.

They spent their retirement years in Tennessee and Florida, and more recently returned to Ashville. June was an active member of the United Methodist church throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, 116 Morris Rd.

Friends may call at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main, Ashville, Friday 6-8 p.m. and at Hedges Chapel CCCU, Saturday 1-3 p.m., prior to the service.
