Emma V. Welch, 81, formerly of Linden, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital. Born January 6, 1938 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Donald E. Koons and Helen M. Rice. Emma was a member of Crossroads Church of Jersey Shore.

She loved playing games on her tablet, puzzle books, coloring, playing cards, and going to the casino. Emma volunteered at the Love Center. Surviving are her children, William “Bill” Welch (Gracie) of Williamsport, Agnes “Tutt” Koch (Gordon) of Antes Forte, Mae “Rain” Harman (Steve) of Pine Creek, Diana DeBrody (Bruce) of Buxton, NC.

, and a granddaughter who was raised by her grandparents, Glenda Hopple (Jeffrey) of Cogan House, ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Emma was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Clarence R. “Dick” Welch on August 23, 1998, a son, Clarence R. Welch Jr. in 1955, a daughter Rose A. Jones in 1984, and a brother William E. Koons in 2017. A funeral service to honor the life of Emma will be held 1 p.m. Monday, February, 18 at Crossroads Church, 1454 PA-44, Jersey Shore.

Burial will follow in Woodward Township Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at Crossroads Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Emma’s name to Crossroads Church of Jersey Shore, 1454 PA-44, Jersey Shore, PA 17740 or Susquehanna Health Foundation c/o the Gatehouse, 1101 Grampian Blvd, Williamsport, PA 17701.
