Emmett “Jay” Sharp, 94, of Pewee Valley, went home to be with His Lord, Friday, November 9th, 2018 at Forest Springs Health. Jay was an active member of Lyndon Independent Baptist Church, having served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and was a leader in the church for many years. He spent his life leading and bringing people to his Lord, Jesus Christ.

He was a proud Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater earning the Bronze Star and Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was retired from Armour Foods after 45 years and later retired from Stoess Funeral Home after 20 years where he became part of the family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Miss Aggie; two brothers, Thurman and Odie; and an infant sister, Dora.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; daughters, Linda Hopkins (Doug), Joy Ferguson (Jerry), and Lisa Lehring (Joe Garcia); step daughter, Lori Simmons (Billy); 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 5 step grand children; 6 step great grandchildren; and many friends. Funeral service will be Wednesday, 12:30 pm, Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-8pm.
