Emogene Andriko of Newton Falls joined her late husband, Steve, after several decades of waiting, in the presence of our Lord by passing peacefully on March 18, 2019. She was born in Newton Falls on March 10, 1927 the daughter of Walter and Delcie Booher. She lived in Braceville for a short while in her younger years and graduated from the former Braceville High School in 1945.

She was the second of six children and is survived by brothers, Bob and Larry, and her sister Opal. Brother and sister, Walt and Betty preceded her in death. She and Steve reared three sons, Steve, Rodney, and David, in Newton Falls where she lived until her death.

She enjoyed her early career as a housewife and mother. She was very instructive and active in her children’s development. She and her husband were inseparable and were well received in their social circles, including many veterans’ groups.

They lived life to the fullest thoroughly relishing relationships with each other, friends, and family. After her husband passed, she spent 20 plus years as a bartender in various locations in Newton Falls. There she developed the expert ability to produce a joke for any occasion.

Her sense of humor and jovial persona were trademarks. She really did not know a “stranger”. However, she remained true and faithful in her love for husband, Steve and missed him tremendously until their recent reuniting.

Fond memories will be retained by her sons and their families: Steve and Judith of Seabrook, Texas; Rodney and Libby of Lake Milton; and David and Heidi of Newton Falls. Her legacy includes three grandchildren: Alyson, Stephanie, and Emily plus 5 great grandchildren. She continually asked that no none shed a tear for her death because she lived a great life and was ready to go when called.

She did mention that she would not object to friends and family raising a beverage (her favorite was beer) in a toast to her memory. With that in mind, the family requests that you join them in a celebration of life on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Amvets Post 112 in Newton Falls from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. If so inclined, please donate to your favorite charity in her honor.
