Epaminondas’ Obituary 1For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 Corinthians 5:1 Epaminondas was born August 26, 1936 to the late Mary and Alex Pittman in Sandy Hook, Mississippi. He attended Friendship School in Marion County.

He Joined Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Sandy Hook at an eary age and later united with New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi. He worked at various jobs before he moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, retired from Indal Aluminom Plant in Gulfport in 1999.

His favortie pass-time was sitting on the porch, playing with grandchildren, and talking with neighbors. He loved fishing and gardening. He was an avid Saints fan and loved all kinds of sports, especially basketball and football.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Alex Pittman, four children; two brothers, Jewel Pittman and Curbia Pittman; three sisters, Caniza Pittman, Edgie Lee Pittman and Nellie Ardean Pittman. He is survied by his loving and devoted wife Josie Pittman. Four children Larry (Penny) Pittman of Houston, Texas, Terry (Peggy) Pittman of North Carolina, Tina Pittman of Atlanta, Georgia, Adrienne (Austin) Daigle of Gulfport, Mississippi.

Three sisters Alcedee Mark, Eva Mae Mingo, Wilder Pittman, and one brother N.J. Pittman and a special neice Keturah Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. 1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.
