Erma L. (DeWalt) Back, 90 of West Deer Township, died Monday October 1, 2018. She was born on April 16, 1928 in Wilkinsburg to the late Alfred T. and Helen A. (Clawson) DeWalt where she grew up. Erma and her late husband Lawrence grew up as neighbors, walking to school together and were each other’s best friends.

After high school she married Lawrence and were companions and spouses for 61 years. Erma worked at Al Monzo’s Restaurant in Monroeville where she worked as staff member. She worshiped in East Union Presbyterian Church, West Deer.

She enjoyed keeping busy and recently spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter Wanda J. Ulewicz with whom she lived, her granddaughter Donna Back of West Deer, her great grandchildren Emma and Nicholas (Erica) Mikolczyk and her great-great-grandchildren Alexandria and Amelia. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Lawrence J. Back who passed on July 11, 2007, her siblings Roberta McGarrity, Robert and William DeWalt.

Friends received Friday from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Twp. where services will be conducted Saturday 10 AM with the Rev. James C. Ramsey officiating.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Cross Roads Cemetery, Monroeville. View obituary online and leave condolences at www.
