It is with wonderful expectation through faith that we announce that Ernestina Lopez Champion, our precious mother and grandmother, has been called to stand with the Almighty. Ernestina Lopez Champion was born on May 10, 1938 to Willie and Guadalupe Champion of San Juan, Texas. She married and later divorced Jose Antonio Lopez whom she had 3 children with, Juan Jose Lopez (Johnny Joe), Armando and Maria Elena.

She had a granddaughter, Crissy Lopez, who was a delight of her life. Ernestina had 6 siblings, Daniel Champion (Ernestina Escobedo), Delia Ramos (Benito), Cleto Champion (Elidia), Willie Champion Jr. (Licha Pedraza), Jesus Champion (Bea), and Gracie Escalera (Manuel). Ernestina attended the Woodville Evangelical Church and later the Woodville Church of the Nazarene.

She led her children to the Lord and they have all followed in her footsteps. The service will be on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Porterville Church of the Nazarene, 2005 W. Olive Ave in Porterville followed by interment at Woodville Cemetery located at 17203 Avenue 168.
