Ernie Lois Lawton (Eubanks) Ernie Lois Eubanks Lawton died on April 26, 2018. Mrs. Lawton was born on September 2, 1934 in Lucedale, Mississippi to Rev. and Mrs. Floyd Jefferson Eubanks.

Lois Lawton was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Rev. Frank W. Lawton; son, Wesley Maxwell Lawton; sister, Melva Eubanks Siddon; and brother, Zelton Eubanks. She is survived by her children, Deaver Lamar Lawton (Patty), Sarah Diane Lawton Smith (Warren), and Alice Sandra Lawton Johnston (Terry); sister, Julia Cloy; brothers, Verk Eubanks (Anne), Ivan Eubanks (Sylvia), and Lemuel Eubanks (Nita); five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lawton was a Certified Health Unit Coordinator with the National Association Health Unit Coordinators where she worked at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, VA from 1978 to 2010. She loved the Lord and taught her family Christian values. She enjoyed shopping and gardening.

Her neighbors often stopped to admire her yard. She volunteered at Gayton Baptist Church. Mrs. Lawton graduated from Rocky Creek High School, 1952 and attended Clark College, 1952-1953; Mississippi College, 1953-1954; and DeSoto Community College, 1969.

Lois Lawton held memberships in National Association Health Unit Coordinators, Inc. where she was President-elect 1990-1993, President, Chief Executive Officer 1993-1995, and received the Distinguished Service award in 1990. She was inducted in Who’s Who in America in 1996. Mrs. Lawton will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Harwood Home for Funerals in Black Mountain, NC with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following. Mrs. Lawton will be buried next to her husband at Ridgecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Ridgecrest, NC. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova, TN on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3:00 pm.

The family will receive friends at 2:30pm until the service time. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Ridgecrest Memorial Park Cemetery, www. ridgecrestconferencecenter.org or the American Heart Association.
