Obituary for Janice Bartlett McGlohon Janice Bartlett McGlohon, 59, of Swannanoa passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Jan was born February 25, 1959 in Buncombe County to the late Verlon and Mary Stevens Bartlett. She was a 1977 graduate of Owen High School.

She then attended and graduated from the American Business & Fashion Institute in Charlotte. Jan ended her career as a paralegal with Reed Law Firm and was Co-Owner of Asheville Pet Crematory. Jan had many talents and gifts which she shared freely with others.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Lynn Bartlett. Jan was an active member of Springerville and leaves behind Thelma and Hattie her beloved Springer Spaniels, along with Oakley her Shih Tzu. Jan is survived by her long-time companion, Steve Hodgens; nephews, Brian and Brett Bartlett; and a close-knit group of cousins.

A private family service will be held May 5, 2018. A Celebration of Jan’s life will be held on the grounds of Bee Tree Christian Church on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 2:00pm. Friends are invited to bring a story or memory to share.
