Obituary for Ronnie “Tootie” Slagle Ronnie “Tootie” Slagle, 70, of Swannanoa, passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2018. Ronnie was born March 11, 1948 in Buncombe County to the late Lattie Slagle and Mary Jones Slagle. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp where he served during the Vietnam War and was a Purple Heart recipient.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Cecil and Monroe Slagle; and sister, Pat McKinney. Ronnie is survived by his significant other, Nancy Rhymer; sons, Mark and Jeff Rhymer; brothers, Lattie Slagle, Jr. (Judy), Robert Slagle (Carolyn), and Billy Slagle (Blanche); granddaughters, Candace Searcy and Heather Rhymer; and great granddaughter, Gracie Searcy. A celebration of life service will be Monday, July 23, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with burial immediately following.
